Emily Fowler
A professor once told me, “The longest relationship you’ll ever have is with your money. You might as well make it a healthy one.” That simple truth has shaped every step of my career.
A Calling That Shifted, Not Disappeared
I grew up certain I would become a classroom teacher. I loved watching people light up when something finally made sense, and I thought that would always happen inside a school. But as I got older, I realized my passion for teaching wasn’t tied to a subject or a setting. It was tied to helping people feel confident in areas of their lives that often feel overwhelming.
Money is one of those areas. It affects nearly everything: our stress, our opportunities, our relationships, and our sense of security. Yet it’s still one of the hardest topics to talk about openly. And in a world where “I learned that on TikTok” has become a common phrase, information is everywhere, but reliable guidance is not. I saw people trying to piece together their financial lives from scattered advice, and I knew I could help.
Building a Career Around Clarity and Confidence
Becoming a financial professional allowed me to merge my love of teaching with meaningful, practical impact. My work is rooted in helping clients understand their financial picture clearly, why each step matters, how their decisions connect, and what habits will support the life they’re working so hard to build.
Every conversation is an opportunity to replace confusion with clarity, fear with confidence, and uncertainty with a plan. Over the years, I’ve learned that financial empowerment isn’t just about numbers. It’s about giving people the tools, language, and support to make decisions they feel good about.
Expanding the Mission: The Empowered Pour
This past year, that mission grew in a way I never expected. Together, we co‑founded The Empowered Pour, a women’s community created to make financial conversations feel accessible, supportive, and judgment free. What started as a simple idea, a space where women could feel seen and confident talking about money, has become something deeply meaningful.
Our gatherings have sparked conversations about everything from budgeting and debt to investing and retirement planning. We’ve welcomed guest speakers who remind us that financial wellness is inseparable from emotional, mental, and overall well‑being. Each time we meet, one truth becomes clearer: financial confidence isn’t built overnight. It grows through connection, curiosity, and one intentional conversation at a time.
A Moment of Recognition That Means More Than Words
Being recognized through this initiative means so much to us, especially as we celebrate women’s empowerment on International Women’s Day, March 8th. This recognition isn’t just about the work we do. It’s about the women who show up, ask questions, share their stories, and take ownership of their financial futures.
It reflects the power of creating spaces where women feel comfortable learning, growing, and supporting one another. It reinforces our commitment to building a community where financial empowerment is accessible, collaborative, and rooted in genuine connection.
We’re grateful for every woman who has joined us, every conversation that has sparked confidence, and every step forward this community continues to take together.

A Nontraditional Path Into Financial Services
I’m a Financial Representative with Johnson Generational Wealth Management, but my path here has been anything but traditional. I began my career in nutritional wellness, spending years helping clients build healthier, stronger lives. In those conversations, one theme kept resurfacing: people wanted to prioritize their well‑being, but financial stress was often the barrier they couldn’t get past. It didn’t matter how committed they were to their health goals. The weight of financial uncertainty made everything feel harder.
Where Wellness and Finance Intersect
That realization changed the trajectory of my career. I came to believe that you can’t talk about overall wellness without talking about financial wellness. The two are deeply connected. When someone feels overwhelmed by money, it affects their stress levels, their relationships, their health decisions, and their long‑term confidence. I shifted my focus and stepped into my career with the same mission I had in wellness: help people feel empowered, supported, and capable of creating lasting change.
How I Support Clients Today
Today, I work with women, families, and business owners on retirement planning, employee benefits, and protection strategies that support both their present and future goals. I bring the same approachability and care from my wellness background into every financial conversation. My goal is to make planning feel clear, actionable, and aligned with what matters most to each client, not intimidating or overwhelming.
Why Women’s History Month Matters in This Work
During Women’s History Month, this work feels especially meaningful. Women are leading households, building businesses, managing careers, and making major financial decisions every day. Yet many still feel unsure or underprepared when it comes to long‑term planning. I’m passionate about changing that narrative by creating spaces where women can ask questions freely, learn without judgment, and build confidence step by step.
The Ripple Effect of Financial Confidence
Financial wellness is more than numbers on a page. It’s about confidence, security, and the freedom to make choices with clarity. When women gain that confidence, the ripple effect is powerful. It strengthens families, supports communities, and shapes the financial futures of the next generation.
